On October 15, 2023, Dr. Abida Rafique, a Research Officer, was invited as a speaker where she shed light on a highly dynamic aspect of “Humanitarian Crises, Migration, & Displacement.” Her presentation was centered around a detailed case study dedicated to examining the status of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kashmir, while also delving into their legal position under the purview of international law. Furthermore, her analysis was also enriched by the incorporation of a gender-sensitive perspective.

CISSS and the University of Sindh jointly hosted a conference on “Strategic and Economic Dimensions of Pakistan-China Relations Amid Deepening Global Geopolitical Divide.” The closing remarks at the occasion were from, ED CISS AJK Dr Asma Shakir Khawaja.
She highlighted the importance of foreign policy diversification, with a detailed review of the lessons learned from the Ukraine War. She also chalked out prospects of utilizing nuclear technology to ensure environmental protection.
