The Centre for International Strategic Studies AJK (CISS AJK) organized a seminar to commemorate , focusing on nuclear deterrence and strategic stability in South Asia.
⏯️The session was moderated by Ms. Qurat ul Ain Shabbir, Research Officer, CISS AJK.
⏯️Dr. Rukhsana, Chairperson of Art and Design Department, UAJK highlighted that nuclear deterrence extends beyond military dimensions, incorporating cultural influence, strategic interpretation, and public perception shaping security narratives.
⏯️Dr. Muqeem ul Islam, Director General, Kashmir Institute of Management, spoke on Kashmir in the Age of Nuclear Deterrence, emphasizing cyber security, artificial intelligence, and evolving strategic technologies.
⏯️Sardar Javed Ayoob, Former Secretary AJK Govt, discussed Pakistan’s role in maintaining strategic stability and credible deterrence in South Asia.
⏯️Ms. Sayda Tahreem, ADR , CISS AJK stressed that deterrence is a dynamic process requiring continuous strategic coordination in response to changing regional realities.
⏯️Mr. Zohaib Altaf, ADR, CISS AJK addressed the gap between reality and propaganda narratives, highlighting cyber resilience, protection of critical infrastructure, and advancements in strategic and space-related technologies.
⏯️In her closing remarks, Dr. Asma Shakira Khawaja , Executive Director, CISS AJK underscored Pakistan’s credible nuclear deterrence posture and its contribution to regional stability, emphasizing the importance of continued academic and policy engagement.
⏯️The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion on emerging challenges to strategic stability in South Asia.
