Rimsha Malik, Associate Research Officer at CISS AJK, participated in the Pakistan–UNIDIR Cyber Capacity-Building and Policy Training 2026, an intensive programme addressing the full spectrum of contemporary and emerging cyber threats and their policy implications.

The training examined state and non-state cyber threats, cyber incidents targeting critical infrastructure, challenges related to attribution and escalation, and the growing impact of emerging technologies on the cyber threat landscape.

Ms. Malik engaged in scenario-driven discussions and policy-oriented exercises focused on decision-making under pressure, coordination mechanisms, and response strategies at national and international levels. Interactions with the UNIDIR team and international experts offered practical insights into threat assessment, risk mitigation, and strategic communication during cyber crises.

The programme further highlighted the importance of integrating policy, technical expertise, and inclusive perspectives to effectively address evolving cyber threats and strengthen resilience in an increasingly complex digital environment.
