Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, graced the occasion as chief guest. Other speakers included Dr. Shabana Fayyaz, Chairperson, Department of Strategic Studies, QAU, Islamabad.
Future of South Asia: Conflict and Strategic Stability
Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director CISS, AJK, delivered a keynote address on “Future of South Asia: Conflict and Strategic Stability” at a one-day seminar held at the Center for South Asian Studies, University of Punjab, Lahore on August 27, 2024. She underscored the significance of sustainable peace and economic development for regional peace and security.
Dr. Naheed S Goraya, Director Center for South Asian Studies, explored opportunities for mutual academic cooperation, further enriching the discussion.
The seminar facilitated a thought-provoking exchange of ideas, paving the way for future collaborations that promote regional understanding and cooperation.

Research Officer Tayyaba Khurshid attended the Seminar on China’s Global Civilization Initiative organized by Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad on August 9,2024.The seminar highlighted the China’s initiative and Pakistan support for such Paradigms that call for dialogue between civilizations and promote peaceful co-existence.

Kashmir Cause and Role of Diaspora: Opportunities and Challenges
Dr Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director CISS, AJK chaired a rountable discussion on Kashmir Cause and Role of Diaspora: Opportunities and Challenges organized by Institute of Regional Studies, Islamabad on 20th May, 2024. Dr Asma also gave concluding remarks in the event and shared her views on how Diaspora creates enabling environment where diplomacy can work and issues could be raised in more appropriate way. She appreciated the role Kashmiri and Pakistani Diaspora have been playing to highlight Kashmir cause but concluded that more can be done in terms of giving space to Kashmiri youth in International forums and passing the cause to next generation effectively.
