The Center for International Strategic Studies Azad Jammu and Kashmir  organized a seminar on October 4, 2024, titled “TheGazaWar: Lessons for the KashmirStruggle.”

The guest speaker,  Amna Khaishgi, discussed the similarities and differences between the situation in Gaza and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director CISSAJK, delivered the opening remarks, raising key questions regarding the ongoing issues in both regions. The seminar was moderated by Associate Research Officer Hira Bashir.
Participants included journalists, faculty from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and other prominent figures such as Ameer Jamat-e-Islami AJK GB Chapter Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Brigadier Asrat, Principal Cadet College, Dr. Rabia Akhtar, Dr. Tahmina, Dr. Rauf, Director ORIC, and Raja Shahid Lateef.
Dr Rauf during the discussion highlighted the need to adopt a multi-faceted approach while spotlighting the situation in IIOJK and raising awareness of not just human rights issues, but environmental degradation , economic meltdown of region etc. Its important to move out of escapism and stand for the just cause of right to self determination of Kashmiri people.
Dr. Mushtaq Khan delivered the concluding remarks, emphasizing the need for a proactive policy that unites people for the just cause of Kashmir, he stressed on the need to mobilize Diaspora, activate media and adopt Political International Diplomacy to achieve sucess in our Kashmir policy.
The event concluded with the guests receiving CISSAJK Souvenir from ED CISSAJK.
