‘Joined Synergy Charter’, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) , with the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad

The Centre for International Strategic Studies, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (CISS-AJK), has achieved another milestone by signing ‘Joined Synergy Charter’, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) , with the Centre for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad. This agreement marks CISS-AJK’s second formal collaboration with a national think tank, reinforcing the commitment to academic excellence and policy-driven research.
 
The MoU was signed by Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director of CISS-AJK and Air Marshal (Retd.) Javaid Ahmed, President of CASS. The partnership aims to develop collaborative research and enhance the national discourse on disruptive and emerging technologies, and explore their strategic implications. The collaboration is also set to address critical issues, including the Kashmir conflict, within the context of a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
 
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja expressed optimism about the potential to explore shared research interests. She lauded the dedication of the CISS-AJK team and reiterated the institute’s commitment to producing impactful academic contributions. She also commended the research produced by CASS, noting that it was addressing unexplored research areas and bridging critical research gaps.
 
Air Marshal (Retd.) Javaid Ahmed praised CISS-AJK’s achievements, describing the organization’s journey from inception to becoming one of the country’s leading think tanks as a remarkable feat. He further maintained that given the progress achieved by CISS-AJK, CASS was eager to formalize a collaboration with the institute to strengthen research in the areas that are commonly focused by the both institutions. He also expressed a deep interest in the Kashmir issue, stating that there was a need to bring greater attention to its various dimensions at both the national and international levels.
 
The event also included presentations from the researchers from both the institutions.
The ceremony concluded with both institutions reaffirming their shared commitment to the future collaboration. The partnership is poised to pave the way for research which will leave a lasting impact on national and regional discourse.
