CISS AJK hosted the Pakistan Zindabad Seminar , “Building Resilient Youth Communities at Educational Campuses” on June 26, 2025.
🤝Jointly organized with the Islamic Research Institute, IIUI, and the Paigham-e-Pakistan Centre for Peace, the event brought together scholars, officials,students and researchers to explore practical strategies for youth empowerment and the prevention of violent extremism.
The session began with welcome remarks by Zohaib Altaf, Associate Director CISS AJK, followed by special remarks from Midhat Shahzad, Additional Chief Secretary General, AJK, who emphasized policy support for youth-led peace initiatives.
🌐 Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah, Minister for Information AJK, joined as Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of community-based awareness to safeguard national identity.
⏹️Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, DG of the Islamic Research Institute, IIUI, delivered the keynote address, stressing Islamic values of peace and intellectual responsibility in shaping young minds.
Dr. Rustam Khan, Deputy Director at the Islamic Research Institute, reflected on the powerful influence of social media on youth behavior and identity formation, cautioning against its misuse in spreading extremist narratives.
👉 Syeda Tahreem Bukhari, Associate Director , underscored the central role of educational campuses in countering violent extremism by promoting inclusive discourse and civic education.
Nimra Javed, Research Officer , presented innovative ideas on using Artificial Intelligence to combat online violent extremism. She discussed AI’s potential in detecting harmful content, identifying radicalization patterns, and enabling positive counter-narratives.
🎙️ The seminar was moderated by Abdul Basit, Associate Research Officer at CISS AJK, who ensured a lively and insightful discussion.
This impactful seminar was held in collaboration with the EU, UNODC, NACTA, and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. Together, these institutions reaffirmed their commitment to supporting youth as drivers of peace, resilience, and national progress.
