



The research faculty of the Center for International Strategic Studies AJK (CISS AJK) conducted a Strategic Outreach Program at the University of Poonch Rawalakot engaging BS students from International Relations in an interactive academic exchange on contemporary strategic, security, and policy-relevant issues.
🔹 Abdul Basit (Associate Research Officer, CISS AJK) introduced the institute, outlining its research mandate and highlighting academic, research, and professional opportunities for students in AJK.
🔹 Hira Bashir (Associate Research Officer, CISS AJK) presented on the *peaceful uses of nuclear technology, underscoring its development-oriented applications in energy generation, healthcare, agriculture, and industry.
🔹 Abdul Rehman (Research Officer, CISS AJK) delivered a talk on “Understanding Strategic Stability & Escalation Dynamics in South Asia,” explaining the concept of strategic stability, escalation dynamics, and their relevance to the South Asian security environment.
The outreach program also included an assessment session, followed by a question-and-answer segment, during which students participated actively, asked insightful questions, and engaged in meaningful discussion with the speakers.
The session was concluded by Dr. Uzma Munshi,Head of the Department of International Relations, University of Poonch Rawalakot, who appreciated CISS AJK’s initiative and highlighted the importance of exposing students to strategic and policy-oriented discourse.
Faculty also conducted a Strategic Outreach Program at Mohammadan Science College Hajeera, engaging more than 300 BS students in an interactive academic exchange on contemporary strategic and security issues.

🔹 Abdul Rehman (Research Officer) discussed Environmental Security Challenges in AJK, highlighting the intersection of climate change, human security, and sustainable development.
The session concluded with remarks by Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Principal of Mohammadan Science College Hajeera, who appreciated CISS AJK’s initiative to engage students across diverse districts of AJK and to promote awareness of strategic and policy-relevant issues among youth. The program concluded with the presentation of a CISS AJK souvenir to Dr. Tariq Mahmood as a gesture of appreciation.
