Impact of Line of Control on Biodiversity of Jammu & Kashmir

by CISSAJK
Addressing the 42nd Zoological Conference of Pakistan, ARO Abdul Rehman highlights the dire consequences fence raised by India along the Line of Control in Kashmir. This barrier disrupts ancient migration corridors, devastates ecosystems, and harms terrestrial wildlife through land mines. Cross-border firing by Indian forces exacerbates the situation, leading to increased incidents of wildfires. Urgent action is needed to safeguard Kashmir’s biodiversity and mitigate these harmful impacts.
