Dr. Asma Khawaja, Executive Director of CISS AJK, appeared on PTV News’ show Kashmir Magazine with anchor Yasir Rehman on September 13, 2024. During the interview, she highlighted the inhumane treatment of the people of Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK), particularly the practice of transferring prisoners thousands of miles away from their homeland. She emphasized that this is not only an effort to isolate them from their families and communities but also an attempt to censor the voices of Kashmiris. Furthermore, Dr. Asma pointed out that while the Modi government offers scholarships to Kashmiri youth in a bid to portray India as a developed nation, these youths are becoming increasingly aware of the stark contrast in the treatment they endure at the hands of the Indian army and police.
