Regional Instability Warning

by CISSAJK

Pakistan has called for strategic restraint in South Asia, raising concerns over advanced weapons being supplied to India and their destabilizing effect on regional stability. During a UN General Assembly debate, Pakistan’s UN Counselor, Gul Qaiser, emphasized the need to avoid an arms race and advocated for balanced military capabilities. He also noted the limited effectiveness of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and urged global protocols on emerging technologies like autonomous weapons and AI in military applications, stressing the importance of balancing security with humanitarian concerns.
