A webinar on the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC): Pakistan’s Commitments and Responsibilities was organized by RO Nazia Sheikh and Qurat-ul-Ain Shabbir. The event began with opening remarks by RO Qurat-ul-Ain Shabbir, who provided a welcome and an overview of the session. Brig (Retd) Zahir Kazmi, Former DG ACDA, discussed the advancements in the BWC, highlighting key outcomes and future directions from the December 2024 meeting. Dr. Syed Javaid Khurshid, a Consultant in Science Communication and Diplomacy at OIC- COMSTECH, presented Pakistan’s legislative and regulatory framework for implementing the BWC. Dr. Raziq Hussain, Assistant Professor, explored the future of the BWC with a focus on institutionalization and preparedness for evolving global challenges. The session, moderated by Nazia Sheikh, concluded with closing remarks from ED Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, summarizing key points and expressing gratitude to the
participants.
