Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, ED CISSAJK was invited as a Guest of Honor at International Conference on “Global Peace and security : Navigating the Future” organized by Center for South Asian Studies, University of Punjab Lahore on 26th June 2024 in collaboration with World Beyond War. She delivered a key note address and shared her invaluable insights on “Global peace and security.” According to her, the current world order is not conducive to achieving the objective of peace as it is filled with mistrust.
The military industrial complex complicates the idea of peace as war grows the economy of some states. Confict is a dominating phenomenon in international politics as it is cheaper than peace.
She also chaired the first session of the International Conference.
